Former brothel

In the opposite direction from the previous picture, I recall the tour guide telling us that the building with the protrusion used to be a brothel in the Middle Ages. The women would stand in that extended room where the men could see them from the street, and then the women could watch the men enter the front door.

Side street

I remember taking this picture because I liked the form of the tall, narrow street. I didn't notice the unique colors of the buildings, such as the red and peach ones on the left, until I was reviewing the pictures.

Bahnhofstrasse

The Bahnhofstrasse has been called the most beautiful shopping street in the world. Lined with linden trees, it has some of the world's most expensive shops, some of which sell Swiss watches and jewelry.

Limmat River, facing North

My plane left SFO at 9:25pm on May 7, and arrived on May 8 at 5pm in Zurich, an 11-hour flight. Off the airport shuttle, checked into my hotel, on my way to get something to eat, I couldn't resist taking pictures. This is a picture of the Limmat River, facing north.

Courtyard fountain

Many European cities have buildings that are built with courtyards in the middle of them, only accessible from the street by a long hallway or driveway that leads to a small virtually concealed door. I was walking along a narrow street on a narrow sidewalk, passing closed door upon closed door, when I passed an open one and found this courtyard with this huge fountain. I just had to take a picture.
