Next time I go to Switzerland, I want to spend more time in the countryside. It's absolutely beautiful! (This is the view from the train.)

The Swiss countryside reminds me a little of Napa and Marin County in California.

Rocky shore

I liked how the water was rippling against the rocks, so I tried to capture it in this picture. As you can see in the various pictures, the water is very calm here. The way these waves moved seemed unique.

Lausanne Vineyards

When going through the Alps, the trains go through a lot of tunnels. Some tunnels are long, and of course, there isn't much to look at when you're in the tunnels. I rarely wear a watch, and I really didn't care to know what time it was and how close I was to the next city. (continued next photo)

We came out of one tunnel, and I practically hit the ceiling of the train. The sight approaching Lausanne was one of the most amazing I had seen on the whole trip from a train. It was quite memorable. I'll never forget it. (continued next photo)

White boat

One thing that was really surreal during the storm was how the clouds were shading the ground. Part of the landscape was dark, and part of it was brightly lit. Kinda eerie, kinda cool.

Lausanne Hillside

After I peeled my nose from the window, I scrambled to get my camera. I'm glad a few of the pictures came out, but of course, they don't compare to being there. The scenes of the vineyards near the train, with the lake, the mountains on the left, and Lausanne on the right shore are spectacular.

It rained quite a bit in Lausanne. I didn't get stuck, but it made it challenging to find good subjects for pictures. I'm not sure what these two were thinking, but they're going out to the storm.
